Rockets Inflatables
Joe and Shannon Garcia, along with their children Aaron and Ashley, have been Robinson residents for the past ten years. In January 2009 the Garcia’s opened a new business, Rockets Inflatables.
“We wanted to have a business that could include and benefit all of the members of the family,” Joe said. “I worked in car sales for 10 years and wanted to spend more time with my family, so after some discussion, we decided to open Rockets Inflatables.” What better way to work and share time with the family than open a business that relates mostly to children, celebration, and family fun.
Shannon helps out with the business part-time. She has a full-time job where, for the past 10 years she has worked for the Family Health Center as the Education Coordinator.
“We started this business because we are in it for the kids and the community,” Shannon said. “We wanted to find a way to serve Robinson and its residents.”
Currently, Rockets Inflatables has 10 inflatables, 3 dry and 7 that can be used wet or dry, and three popcorn machines.
In the near future, the Garcia’s will also provide table and chair rentals, sno cone machines, slushy machines and a cotton candy machine.
“With Rockets Inflatables, customers get the same kind of personal service whether they rent the popcorn machine or the 18-foot Monster Slide,” Joe said. “We are here to serve the community.”
The business is truly a family affair. The Garcia children, 11 year-old Aaron and 8 year-old Ashley, were more than happy to demonstrate the “fun-factor” in inflatables.
“I love playing around on the inflatables,” Ashley said. “Sometimes we get to try them out before renting them to customers.”
“I like having my dad around more of the time,” Aaron said. “I also like being able to help out with the family business.”
The Garcia’s are really involved in their children’s lives. The kids are in multiple sports in the community and Joe has coached Little League basketball for two years. He coached Little League softball last year and hopes to coach again this season.
“Our family is very sports oriented,” Joe said. “We attend a lot of games and have met a lot of Robinson residents that way.” Joe volunteers a lot of his time with his children’s sports.
